Who we are

Our Team

The STEAM Pirates — formerly known as the AKETH Pirates — are the main robotics and STEAM team of the Institute of Education and Innovation (INEKA). The team continues the legacy of successful robotics and educational innovation initiatives developed by the organisation, including AkethRobotics, CargoBots, Energy Lions, AKETH Xperts, AIRGears, TriRoboNauts, RoboTeens, and others.

Through robotics, programming, mechanical design, and STEAM projects, students transform learning into an active, experiential, and collaborative process. They develop creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while designing meaningful solutions to real-world challenges.

Over the years, the STEAM Pirates and the organisation’s previous robotics teams have earned significant distinctions in leading educational robotics and innovation competitions, including the FIRST® LEGO® League, RoboRAVE Greece, the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), Generation Next, StarT / LUMA Centre Finland, and others.
